This hotel is a hidden gem in the beautiful countryside near Macon. The charming atmosphere and attention to detail make it a great value for money. The rooms, decorated in an authentic style, are comfortable and even offer a small private terrace. The breakfast, mentioned as "worth it" in one of the reviews, is a delightful way to start the day.
All was excellent, leaving no room for improvement.

Exelent athmosphere, large room and very frienly service. Also location of the hotel was practical.
Difficult to park with a big car. Very nice , but unpractical bath room.At least shower clothing would help to avoid spreading shower water.

Hotel owners were extremely welcoming and made the stay very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent - great decor and the food was fantastic. Although €45 for a 4 course menu may be expensive by French standards, it was well worth it. Breakfast too is very substantial. Overall, this is a quaint little guesthouse with comfortable rooms and is ideal for a 1 or 2 night stay.
It is not as "remote" as it appears. Having said that, although it is located just off the main road, it still has a "rural" feeling to it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a little dusty.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem located near Macon and motorways. the traditional French decor welcomes guests in the main lounge area, while the charming gardens with animals and an outdoor pool offer relaxation. Bedrooms, featuring a somber color scheme and TV, provide comfortable accommodation, and the breakfast spread is deliciously comprehensive. the friendly hosts offer old-fashioned French hospitality and speak many languages. Located in Bourg en Bresse, this Hostellerie is perfect for travellers looking for a stopover in an otherwise poorly served area.
The hotel's set menu may offer limited options, but the a la carte substitutes more than make up for it.

A good menu with lovely local food
Incredibly interesting decor (looks like it hasn't been updated since the 70s), so if style is what you are looking for, this isn't the place. although, having said that, the room was spacious, clean, quiet and with a comfortable bed, so if you can get past the hideous wallpaper, avocado bathroom suite and eccentric array of fake flowers and art work it's fine for an overnight stop.

The husband/wife team are wonderful hoteliers who are warm, welcoming, and highly efficient. We felt so much "at home" and would stay again. The grounds are beautifully maintained, as are the rooms, which are spacious, well-equipped with 2 large armchairs, table, desk & chair, DVD player and TV. The bathroom is large with 2 sinks and large bathtub. Everything is scrupulously clean and maintained. I can't focus on anything in particular because everything worked! We also had dinner in the dining room and were impressed with the cooking and presentation. The "poulet de Bresse", regional specialty was a real treat. And the wine list was reasonably priced with good local products. All in all, it was a fantastic stay!!

The hotel’s location in a small village near a bigger city made it convenient for us to access local attractions during the Christmas holiday. The park area and animals, especially the donkey, added a family-friendly aspect that was suitable for children. The restaurant served excellent local cuisine with good value for money, and the service was very friendly.
The outdated furniture, bedding, and lighting in the rooms were somewhat disappointing, especially considering the high price we paid. The Wi-Fi signal was very weak and only accessible in certain areas.

Spent Easter weekend at a charming French hotel with beautiful gardens and well-kept pool. Delicious food with an option of a menu or single dishes. Also appreciated the great location close to attractions and tourist information.

This is a friendly hotel in quiet pleasant garden surroundings. Our room (deluxe double) was large and well furnished in keeping with an elegant farmhouse setting. The restaurant and breakfast rooms are beautifully presented, and the quality of the meals is very high. There is an amazing choice for breakfast. We found the whole experience very relaxing. Very pleased to have found this hotel.
You have to get used to ordering your evening meal well before you come to the restaurant, but on the other hand it does lead to high quality dining.

This hotel in Bourg en Bresse is a little gem. The attention to detail is superb, with small touches like the chicken-themed crockery adding charm. The rooms, decorated in an authentic French style, are comfortable and spacious, with some even boasting a small private terrace. The breakfast here is a feast, with a delightful selection of freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly ground coffee, and an incredible array of breads, croissants, and brioche to enjoy. It's no wonder the breakfast is described as the best in France - it's simply divine.
Everything was perfect.

The live rabbit in the dining area at breakfast. Overall very comfortable atmosphere. Good restaurant with traditional food.
Hand held shower in bathtub, not even a shower curtain.

An enjoyable experience! Hostellerie Sarrasine has a beautiful small park with a fountain and a swimming pool. Everything - rooms, lobby, dining room - are designed with love and perfect attention to details. Hostelleie's owners are very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended to stay there in order to explore Poluilly-Fuisse and Saint-Verand wine areas
